Mountain Laurel Magic

One of the nice things about living in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains is during the month of May the Mountain Laurels bloom.  My friend Ann invited everyone over to enjoy lunch and the view from her cozy cabin's porch of  the magical mountain laurels.  We walked along her forest are some photos.  The little buds look like tiny frosted cupcakes!

Seeing Red

Seeing Red.

Well not exactly red....shades of rust, crimson and burnt orange.  While walking over to the carriage house after the rain the sun just lit up the yard and the color red  seemed to glow.

I was  about to open the door to the carriage house when I noticed this tiny lizard sunning himself on the handle!

New Baby Trick: The Princess Wave

One of the first things every girl should learn how to do:  The Princess Wave

Little Emory learned this new trick from her Aunt Jamey, after noticing how she was watching her hands.  Here is Uncle Dan holding her, as we are all laughing at her gentle slow wave from side to side….the people at the table next to us said “that baby is doing a parade wave”.

A girl never knows when this wave will come in handy, always good to be prepared.
